Over the River and Through the Woods
One of the good things about going to your grandmother’s house is the toys. She buys them just for you. She helps you put them away when you’re done playing. None of the parts are ever missing because she stores them safely, away from pets and siblings so they will be just like new the next time you come over.
That’s to say nothing of the snack cupboard. Oatmeal creme cakes. Rice Krispie treats. Fudge Rounds. You know, all of the stuff you weren’t allowed to have as a kid because it made you bounce off the walls. She gives them to your children as revenge for the time your sister set fire to the kitchen cabinets and all of those gray hairs you gave her in high school. You know she does.
