@Melody – I’ve seen that show Clean House! Only a few episodes but I know what you mean, I think some of those people are definitely hoarders too. I just recently saw the episode where a woman and her daughter had a full house, basement, and attic… so much so that the weight in the attic caused a crack in her ceiling! They had to rent out a 7,000 square foot location to hold the sale of their discard items. They made over $17,000 and donated it to leukemia research. That’s a nice donation but I can’t even imagine having that much stuff!

I guess Neice Nash of Clean House hasn’t seen Hoarders when they are looking for the Country’s Messiest House each season. I would love to have someone redo my house, but then I think I couldn’t sell my stuff. My vintage treasures……uh-oh…better go now..bye

@Amber, I agree… I’d like to see a show that helps them. Hoarders does the best they can but it’s not a “cure” necessarily. They recently aired an episode where they showed updates of 5 hoarders previously featured. Only one of them had actually changed their life and were no longer hoarding. It’s great that one person was helped but it would be nice if the success rate was higher.

My husband watches the show occasionally, and I have been known to watch it with him. It drives me crazy but once I start watching it, I can’t walk away! I guess I want to see just one show that really does help one of these “unusual” people known as “hoarders!”
